Future is (not) comming

I was asking myself when the future will come. Yes, there are many new technological toys, everything goes smaller and faster, but where is the future like from sci-fi? And here it is: pentagon is going to implant microchips in soldier's brain. Officials says that it will only monitor health information but anyway I'm a little bit afraid of it. And not, I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories :)
